CMOS Quantum Sensor Platform

Fraunhofer ipms
Fraunhofer IPMS’s has developed a CMOS-integrated quantum sensing platform for high-resolution magnetic field measurements based on NV-diamond technology. By combining quantum sensing with semiconductor-compatible CMOS integration, we enable compact, scalable, and energy-efficient sensor systems suitable for industrial deployment. The platform integrates optical excitation, microwave control, photodetection, and signal processing into a highly integrated architecture, significantly reducing system size and complexity compared to conventional laboratory setups. Operating at room temperature without cryogenic cooling, this provides a pathway from quantum sensing research to manufacturable solutions for applications in industrial monitoring, medical diagnostics, energy infrastructure, and navigation.
