Working Group Quantum Communications & Cybersecurity

Vision

The Working Group Quantum Communications and Cybersecurity aims to spearhead the transition into the era of quantum-safe cybersecurity to secure data, businesses and infrastructures. To protect the digital world from quantum threats we aim to consolidate Europe’s leadership in quantum communications and cryptography we as well as quantum computing tools that can actively help defend agains cyber attacks.

Mission

Our mission is to lead the charge against potential quantum security vulnerabilities. We aim to shape the future of quantum-safe practices by fostering partnerships, international cooperation, promoting rigorous technical innovation and guiding policy and standards both in Europe and globally. We are resolute in our dedication to ensuring the evolution of the cyber landscape is quantum-resistant, thereby addressing the challenges to current security protocols.

Goals & Tasks

Consolidate leadership and foster partnerships by building partnerships and fostering collaboration among European institutions, researchers, and industries to share knowledge, resources, and expertise in quantum communications, cryptography and cybersecurity and to establish QBN members as global leaders.
Integration with existing infrastructure: Work with end-users and organizations to integrate quantum-safe security measures, ensuring seamless transition without compromising existing protocols. Promote the adoption of these quantum-resistant methods across different industries to fortify current security frameworks.
Advocate policy and standards by working closely with regulatory bodies and standardization organizations to advocate for the integration of quantum-safe practices into cybersecurity policies and regulations.
Educate and Raise Awareness by organizing workshops and awareness campaigns to educate stakeholders about quantum threats and the need for quantum-safe practices.
