Successful Kickoff of Strategic Partnership Between GITEX Europe and QBN Europe to Drive Quantum & AI

6 June, 2025 9:20 am

Two weeks ago, Berlin was the epicentre of innovation as GITEX Europe 2025 brought together the tech world’s brightest tech minds. As a strategic partner QBN teamed up with of GITEX Europe to drive quantum strategy, commercialisation and industry adoption – advancing our mission to position Europe  as global leaders in quantum technology. Over three full days, our booth welcomed a steady stream of visitors — from global industry leaders to governmenal representitve — all wanting to understand how quantum could support their business or economy. The level of engagement made one thing clear: interest in quantum is not only rising, it’s becoming more urgent.

QBN CEO Johannes Verst took the stage for a panel discussion on “Building a Quantum-Ready Economy.” It was a timely conversation that echoed much of what we had been hearing throughout the week. A few key takeaways from his remarks:

  • Quantum technologies are already making a mark — more than 10,000 jobs have been created in the field.
  • Within the next 10 to 15 years, quantum could contribute as much as 5% to national GDP.
  • Now is the time for governments, companies, and investors to act: develop clear quantum strategies, align priorities, and take the first concrete steps forward.

These themes ran through many of the conversations we had in Berlin. QBN  met with a number of key figures shaping digital and innovation policy in Europe and beyond, including Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth, Martin Danovsky; Sameer Chauhan, CEO of UNICC; and Kelly Richdale, Senior Advisor at SandboxAQ, one of QBN’s valued members – to explore collaborations or catch up.

We were also proud to see so many of our members present across the venue, including Alexander Glätzle, CEO of planqc, who shared valuable insights during one of the conference sessions as well as the exhibitors Atlant3D and kiutra. The presence and active participation of our members at GITEX Europe is a strong sign of the community’s growing visibility and leadership.

This marked QBN’s second strategic collaboration with GITEX this year, following our successful inaugural involvement as a partner at GITEX Asia in Singapore this April, where we launched our Asia-Pacific chapter, QBN APAC. With strong engagement and meaningful connections at both events, QBN is actively building bridges between the quantum ecosystems of Europe and Asia, contributing to the foundations of a truly global quantum economy.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to explore collaboration and business opportunities, discuss the potential and challenges of quantum technologies. We have come away from Berlin with fresh ideas, new and meaningful connections, and a clear sense that the quantum transformation is no longer on the horizon — it’s already underway, a way that we will go through together.
