Strengthen Franco-German Quantum Collaboration at 3rd Quantum Dialogue in Paris

The 3rd Franco-German Quantum Dialogue at Station F, Paris on 23 Sep 2025 prepared the next steps to move forward a Franco-German and European economic agenda and strengthen European technological sovereignty. Representatives from both quantum ecosystems, from user industries to quantum startups, research organisations to High Performance Computing (HPC) centres, and policy gathered to expand the cooperation between France and Germany and turning quantum innovation into tangible industrial and economic outcomes.

Building on the success of last year’s Dialogue in Berlin, organized by QBN and the French Embassy to Germany, this year’s Paris session focused on “An essential exchange that brings together the French and German ecosystems in order to discuss our needs, possible synergies and opportunities to be seized.” – to put it in the words of the German Ambassador to France, Stephan Steinlein. The morning workshop was organized by our friends and partners from the European Champions Alliance (ECA), Le Lab Quantique, and QUTAC, setting the stage for practical discussions throughout the day.

Key action points and conclusions for QBN emerging from the discussions:

  • QBN will continue to drive its market-pull initiatives with international partners such as the UN and NATO
  • QBN will further expand its support for quantum strategy and business case development for SMEs and larger enterprises.
  • The QBN Working Groups remain the ideal platform to connect with ecosystem players, foster collaboration, and gain valuable insights.

“The European quantum technologies ecosystem is thriving and well on track. To ensure the economic exploitation of our efforts happen in Europe and not abroad we need to build a European market for deeptech, quantum and cloud products. QBN’s success and increasing requests in supporting end-user SMEs and larger enterprises developing and implementing their quantum strategy confirm a first market-pull.”, said Johannes Verst, CEO at QBN.

An afternoon visit to QBN member Quandela highlighted the company’s industrial applications of quantum computing, underscoring its status as a role model for European innovation. The session included contributions from Niccolo Somaschi, CEO of Quandela, and German Ambassador Stephan Steinlein from the German Embassy in France, underlining the cross-sector and international engagement of the Dialogue.

Looking ahead, QBN looks forward to advancing the action items identified during the workshop, translating these discussions into concrete initiatives that drive ecosystem collaboration, market adoption, and strategy development. Through its continuous initiatives, QBN provides a centralised platform for knowledge exchange, business development, and policy engagement, helping members translate quantum innovations into technological, economic, and societal impact.
