In the context of the G7 Summit held from 13 to 15 June 2024 in Apulia, Italy, QTI – Quantum Telecommunications Italy provided Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems to unconditionally secure sensitive communications. QTI’s Quell-X systems, combined with Telsy’s encryptors TelsyMusaX were used to protect the live communications between the Press Centre located in the city of Bari and journalists at the G7 Summit venue at Borgo Egnazia, in the city of Fasano, throughout the three-day event. This deployment of QKD technology demonstrated its maturity and the definitive shift from demonstration to practical applications.
