QBN Launches Overview of Germany’s Regional Quantum Ecosystems to Strengthen Collaboration and Synergies Across the Nation

Munich, Germany – June 2025 — The Quantum Business Network (QBN) has launched a new intelligence resource offering a comprehensive overview of Germany’s regional quantum initiatives and technological focus areas. This initiative supports QBN’s ongoing mission to foster collaboration, enable knowledge exchange, and accelerate quantum innovation — while respecting and enhancing the distinctive strengths of each region.

As quantum activities across Germany grow in scale and complexity, this new content provides much-needed visibility into the country’s vibrant and diverse ecosystem. From Berlin’s advances in quantum photonics and secure communications to Munich’s leadership in quantum computing, the resource showcases key initiatives, stakeholders, and infrastructure across the German quantum landscape.

The publicly available resource includes:

  • Regional quantum strategies and state initiatives
  • Technological specialisations and focus areas
  • Institutional networks and key stakeholders
  • Shared infrastructure and testbeds
  • Support programmes, clusters, and incubators

“Germany has become one of Europe’s most dynamic quantum environments, with remarkable activity emerging from multiple regions,” said Johannes Verst, CEO and Founder of QBN. “Our goal is not to centralise, but to connect — to provide an overview that supports local ecosystems by making their strengths more visible, accessible, and aligned with national and international collaboration opportunities.”

QBN acts as a trusted connector across regional ecosystems, helping to weave local strengths into a broader, collaborative framework that enhances visibility, encourages exchange, and supports complementary growth. By fostering synergies between ecosystems, facilitating strategic matchmaking, and supporting the flow of knowledge and capital, QBN strengthens the national quantum fabric — and helps position Germany as a global leader in quantum technologies.

This initiative aligns with QBN’s broader mission to drive the industrialisation and adoption of quantum technologies across computing, communication, sensing, and enabling fields such as photonics and diamond technologies. As a growing international network of more than 100 members — including startups, SMEs, corporates, investors, research institutions, and government bodies — QBN plays a pivotal role in bridging science and industry, and connecting regional excellence to global opportunity.

“Regional specialisation is one of Germany’s greatest strengths in quantum,” Verst added. “By providing visibility and connectivity across these centres of innovation, we aim to accelerate collaboration and ensure that the German quantum community thrives as part of a stronger, interconnected ecosystem.”
