We are pleased to share the highlights of the first QBN Forum in 2024, focusing on EU Quantum Strategy & Opportunities, inclusive of all QBN members regardless of their technological focus, application area, or value chain position, serves as a platform to develop strategies and lay the foundations for a supportive and thriving environment on international, regional, and company levels.
Moderated by Zeynab Tavakoli, the forum began with CEO Johannes Verst delivering the latest news, introducing new QBN members, and unveiling upcoming funding opportunities. Notably, Oscar Diez and Christian Trefzger from the European Commission shared pivotal updates on the EC plan, delving deep into the Strategic pillars of the EU quantum ecosystem, European Funding Research and Industry, European Quantum Excellence Centers, the Roadmap for Quantum in the Chips act, and provided valuable insights into the “EU AI Start-Up Initiative.”
Of particular interest was the initiative’s goal of opening EU supercomputing resources to AI startups and SMEs. This initiative holds promise for fostering innovation and collaboration within the quantum and AI sectors.
Featured with an open session, the forum provides QBN members the opportunity to share insights and heads up on recent challenges and developments in politics and the ecosystem. Furthermore we had collabortive discussions on topics that we can address together either in the next forums or as a network in general.
As we reflect on the success of the QBN Forum 2024, we remain dedicated to fostering collaboration, influencing industry standards, and addressing the evolving needs of our dynamic community. The insights gained from this event will undoubtedly shape our future endeavors, and we eagerly anticipate the next chapter in our collective quantum journey.
