QBN Celebrates 5 Years of Leadership in Quantum Innovation and Global Impact

26 May, 2025 3:13 pm

Munich, 26 May 2025 – Five years ago, in 2020, the Quantum Business Network (QBN) was founded with a bold mission: to build a resilient and thriving quantum economy. Today, we proudly celebrate five years of growth, collaboration, and pioneering progress in quantum innovation.

From its inception, QBN quickly established itself as a leading force in the quantum landscape. What began as a European network rapidly expanded to unite over 100 world-class members—including startups, SMEs, global enterprises, research institutions, investors, and government agencies—across the entire quantum value chain. Together, they develop and commercialise quantum computing, sensing, communication, cybersecurity, and enabling technologies such as photonics and diamond-based systems.

Throughout our journey, QBN has been instrumental in forging strategic partnerships, facilitating groundbreaking collaborations, and advocating for the responsible and scalable adoption of quantum technologies. We have initiated countless cross-sector initiatives, built strong policy-level relationships in Germany, the EU, and with NATO and others, and supported the growth of a thriving quantum economy in Europe.

This year marks an exciting new chapter for QBN as we expand our reach with the official launch of QBN Asia Pacific. This regional hub builds on our immense  European success, creating a powerful bridge between the two most dynamic quantum ecosystems in the world. Similar to QBN Europe, QBN APAC serves as a one-stop-shop for enterprises, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers, focusing on accelerating adoption, fostering real-world applications, and driving the economic and strategic integration of quantum technologies across the region.

In parallel, 2025 also marks the launch of our Quantum Incubator for End User Enterprises. Designed to fast-track quantum readiness for industry leaders, the incubator empowers businesses across sectors—from finance and healthcare to logistics, energy, and defence—to understand, adopt, and innovate with quantum technologies. Whether you are a newcomer or an advanced strategist, QBN provides tailored support, expert mentorship, and trusted partnerships to turn quantum potential into competitive advantage.

Over the past five years, QBN has also seen exceptional digital engagement, building a community of over 20,000 followers across social media channels, united by a shared commitment to the quantum future.

At the heart of our success are surely our valued members. We extend our deepest gratitude to each organisation and individual who has contributed to our shared mission—through collaboration, innovation, and trust.

Johannes Verst, CEO & Founder of QBN, reflects:

“This five-year milestone is a testament to the strength of our community. I want to sincerely thank our members for their trust, collaboration, and for choosing QBN as a partner known for excellence in advancing the quantum ecosystem. I also want to acknowledge our dedicated QBN team for their constant commitment and hard work. Together, we have built something truly meaningful for the future of quantum technologies.”

Nina Verst, Projects and Office Manager, shares:

“I’ve been part of QBN from almost the beginning, and it’s been an incredible journey. I’m proud to have seen Johannes’ vision grow into a strong, united network where people work hand in hand to drive the Quantum Industry forward. At QBN, it’s clear that behind every business are passionate people who, together, can achieve great things. Being part of this journey has been both meaningful and inspiring.”

Haissam Hanafi, Quantum Technology Manager, says:

“From organizing and moderating events across Europe to managing our technical working groups and driving lobbying efforts—being part of QBN has been a journey full of purpose, collaboration, and dedication to accelerating quantum technologies in Europe.”

Abdelrahman Sallam, Working Student, comments:

“It hasn’t been long since I joined but I am grateful to be part of this incredible journey and this fast-growing organization. Wishing QBN continued success and many more milestones ahead!”

Mila Korunovska, Marketing & Event Manager, adds:

“From day one, it was clear that QBN is more than a network, it’s a movement. Supporting events, communications, and our advocacy work to strengthen the voice of the leading quantum community has been both energising and deeply rewarding.”

Raghunath Koduvayur, APAC Lead, says:

“Congratulations Johannes, Nina, Mila and the QBN family on five years of pioneering quantum technology and ecosystem! Your groundbreaking work is helping shape a future where quantum advancements transform industries and solve global challenges. My personal quantum journey started at the same time as QBN and I have had the privilege to watch you grow from close quarters and am inspired every single day by your work. Here’s to many more years of success and world-changing quantum impact together.”

As we look to the future, our mission remains clear: to make Europe and the Asia Pacific global industrial powerhouses in quantum technologies, to ensure technological sovereignty and national security, and to realise the full societal and economic potential of quantum.

With 2025 also designated as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, this milestone carries even greater meaning. It is a timely reminder of the critical role that quantum innovation plays in shaping a secure, sustainable, and resilient future—for science, for industry, and for society.
