QuantrolOx, a quantum R&D infrastructure software company, has opened its Berkeley office, deepening its presence in the US at a moment when capital and hardware progress in quantum computing are both accelerating sharply. The office was inaugurated at an event co-hosted by QuantrolOx, UC Berkeley Chancellor Rich Lyons and Professor Irfan Siddiqi, director of the Quantum Nanoelectronics Laboratory.
The opening builds on a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) QuantrolOx signed earlier this year with UC Berkeley’s Roger Herst Quantum Nexus, home to one of the most active superconducting-qubit research environments in the world. The collaboration spans research through commercialisation, with a focus on the end-to-end industrialisation of quantum processing units (QPUs). Manual quantum control remains one of the largest bottlenecks to scaling QPUs beyond the lab; QuantrolOx’s control software is built to close that gap at industrial scale.
By deepening its presence within the Berkeley quantum ecosystem, one of the country’s leading centres for quantum research infrastructure, QuantrolOx positions itself alongside the researchers and institutions advancing the path to useful, scalable quantum computers. The collaboration builds on an existing research relationship with Siddiqi’s lab.
