NeQxt is a deep tech startup, founded in 2022 by members of the Mainz University research group led by Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Schmidt-Kaler (Scientific Advisor of neQxt), with over 30 years of experience in quantum sciences. Founders of neQxt have successfully operated a trapped ion quantum computer since 2010, using in-house developed and in-house built 3D ion traps, vacuum chambers, and control electronics. The team has built up unique expertise covering the entire development of quantum computing hardware, including ion traps, control hardware, vacuum systems, and software across the entire software stack, compilers, user interface and device drivers. Useful quantum applications have already been developed with collaboration partners.

Portfolio

  • High-performance 3D ion trap quantum computers
  • Remote quantum computing and algorithm support
  • Mobile quantum computing system
  • Quantum computing enabling technologies, e.g.:
    - Customer-specific ion traps by selective laser-induced etching (SLE)
    - Customer-specific electronic components like DDS and PIDs
