AQLS is a spin-off from Berlin’s universities, Humboldt University of Berlin and Technical University of Berlin, as well as the German Aerospace Center founded in 2023.
Its goal was to transfer quantum-optical experiments into practical applications for the benefit of society.
The company’s first commercially successful product is a source of entangled photon pairs, which is currently sold primarily to the research market, but is expected to become a fundamental building block of deployed quantum networks in the future. These networks will enable quantum computers to be interconnected, allow secure communication, and enable new forms of sensing technology.
