Role overview
As an IC designer at SemiQon, you will be a crucial part of our mission to redefine the capabilities of quantum computing. You will work closely with our hardware experts and collaborate with a diverse team of researchers, engineers, and specialists.
Key responsibilities
- IC-design: You will work as an integral part of the design team, providing your expertise and contribution to meet the demanding timelines of the team.
- PDK-development: You will be responsible for cryogenic PDK development for SemiQon proprietary CMOS technology.
Qualifications
Must have
- Strong expertise in CMOS circuit design (at least two of the following):
- Advanced analog and mixed-signal design (e.g., low-noise, ADC/DAC, PLL/VCO, sensor interfaces)
- RF / high-frequency design (e.g., switches, multiplexers, oscillators, matching, phase-noise optimization)
- Digital integration (e.g., custom logic, FSMs, counters, calibration engine, co-design of analog digital)
- FDSOI-specific design (e.g., body-biasing, variability control, wide-temperature/ cryogenic operation)
- Device physics and layout (e.g., mismatch, parasitic, full-custom layout)
- Programming expertise (experience with several of the following):
- HDL: Verilog, Verilog-A/AMS
- SPICE simulation and verification (Monte Carlo, corners, modelling)
- Scripting: Python, MATLAB, shell (automation, data analysis)
- CAD/PDK: PCell development, PDK customization
- Supporting: C/C++, lab interfaces, Git-based workflows
- PCell creation & parameterization (layout generators)
- CAD flow setup & maintenance
- English proficiency
Good to have
- Custom PDK development experience
- PDK integration and customization (models, layers, rule decks)
- Device modelling and validation (DC/RF/cryo characterization)
- LVS/DRC/ERC deck development & debugging
- Knowledge of PCB design and tools
- Experience from industrial operation
Salary range 4000 – 6500 €/month depending on experience
*A security clearance vetting may be required for the position.
