About the Job
QPerfect is an early-stage quantum computing startup designing an application-specific quantum computer that bridges the gap between quantum algorithms and neutral atom quantum hardware. We’re seeking three new team members to join our Research Team, where you will develop innovative, hardware- and application-efficient approaches to fault-tolerant quantum computing tailored for neutral atoms —working closely with both hardware and software developers to turn theory into reality.

Principal Activities
As a Quantum Researcher, you will contribute to one or more of the following areas:

  • Design and analyse quantum error-correcting codes optimized for neutral atom hardware and specific quantum applications
  • Develop protocols and control techniques for realizing fault-tolerant quantum operations with neutral atom hardware
  • Translate quantum circuits to hardware-efficient machine code for neutral atom quantum computers

What we are looking for

  • PhD in physics, quantum engineering, or a closely related field
  • Research experience in at least one of the following areas: quantum computing, quantum information theory, many-body or condensed matter physics, quantum control, atomic physics, quantum emulation or quantum error correction
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
  • Eagerness to collaborate and work as part of a dynamic, international team
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record in publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences

Bonus:

  • strong programming skills (e.g. Python, Julia, C++ and quantum computing frameworks), knowledge of quantum hardware platforms, or prior leadership experience
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in France. Visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional profiles

What we offer

  • The opportunity to shape the future of quantum computing as part of an early stage deep-tech startup
  • Vibrant, collaborative work environment at the European Center for Quantum Sciences in Strasbourg
  • Life in a highly liveable European city, ideal for exploring nature, culture, and the best of France, Germany, and Switzerland
  • Flexible work arrangements: home office option (typically 1 day per week) and adaptable working hours
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Professional growth: access to training, conferences, leadership and career advancement opportunities
  • Be part of France’s national effort in quantum innovation and help strengthen European leadership in quantum computing
