Event Details

How does quantum computing (QC) work? What principles do  its programming rely on and why does the so-called “quantum advantage” promise disruptive change in almost all industries? This introductory one-day workshop covers the basics of QC, the innovation network and  its opportunities and challenges and gaining insights into potential applications.

Quantum computing promises great potential for companies in almost all sectors thanks to its speed and efficiency advantages. The QC compact seminar provides participants with a comprehensive overview of the current innovation network in the field of quantum computing.

The program starts with an overview of the two quantum technologies, quantum computing and quantum sensing. Afterwards, the differences between classical computers and quantum  computers are discussed, including  the associated challenges and opportunities, in particular types of problems that can potentially be solved with QC. This will be followed by a demonstration of quantum principles using qubits, including an explanation of the Bloch sphere and quantum states such as superposition and measurement. Based on this, different quantum algorithms and exemplary use cases will be presented.

Optional: In the afternoon, participants are invited to familiarize themselves with the latest system architectures and deepen their knowledge with a visit to our Quantum Lab to experience the phenomena of the quantum world first-hand.

The seminar at a glance:

Morning:

  • Quantum technologies and the innovation ecosystem
  • Quantum computers vs. classical computers: challenges
  • and opportunities (incl. problem categories)
  • Quantum principles: Qubits, Superposition & Co
  • Quantum algorithms and use cases

Afternoon:

  • Quantum hardware of different system architectures
  • Quantum errors and correction
  • Visit Quantum Lab

The event is aimed at

Quantum computing enthusiasts, management without prior technical knowledge, politicians, decision-makers, innovation scouts
